Overview

Clinic patients arrive with questions, concerns and hesitations. You put them at ease with a calm and friendly demeanor that exemplifies the Legacy mission. Physicians and other staff know they can rely on you to provide the best possible patient experiences.

Primary responsibilities for this role include scheduling, registration, and some insurance verification.

Responsibilities

Greets members, patients, visitors and others and provide complete and meaningful information. Assess co-pay and collect necessary co-pays. Checks in walk-in patients. Participates in ensuring patient's comfort and personal care activities.

Schedules and coordinates visits and/or services required including confirmation calls to patients. Keeps track of "no-show" patients. Also, provides basic information to patients about the clinic such as directions to the building.

Creates new patient packets by interviewing patients to obtain needed demographic, insurance, health and financial information. Ensures all forms are completed/signed for services.

Enters data and produces reports from enrollment, registration, or the results of health procedures.

Pulls, files and/or finds necessary charts when needed. Assists medical records clerks if needed.

Performs basic patient insurance verification such as photocopying insurance cards or verifying insurance company and coverage with patient at desk or over the phone

Performs various other clerical duties, including but not limited to printing forms, photocopying, faxing, sorting and delivering mail and answering phones.

Qualifications

Experience: A minimum of one year of health care experience or equivalent education in at least one of the following areas preferred:

  • Admitting
  • Medical Records/Health Information
  • Applicable clerical support experience

Skills: Communication skills. Basic computer/data entry skills.
