Portland Mask Project Coordinator (Community Service Aide II)
Portland Bureau of Emergency Management (PBEM) is looking for a Portland Mask Project Coordinator to join the team!
PBEM is currently seeking a limited-term position to support and coordinate the work of the Portland Mask Project. The Portland Mask Project works with volunteers, PBEM, and Portland's Emergency Coordination Center (ECC) to supply communities most impacted by COVID-19 with reusable cloth face coverings.
The Portland Mask Project Coordinator will facilitate the distribution of reusable cloth face coverings and other supplies as needed to communities most impacted by COVID-19. Generally, this will entail clerical and administrative duties, such as tracking inventories and requests, and interfacing with volunteers, logistics professionals, and community outreach specialists. The Coordinator may also be assigned as a liaison representing the Portland ECC to a small number of community-based organizations offering direct services to communities.
Specific projects may include intaking new volunteers for the Portland Mask Project, tracking program metrics, convening and managing meetings of volunteers and other personnel associated with the project, researching mask designs, researching and implementing community education for mask users, and producing/delivering reports to senior City staff. Other duties of comparable work may be assigned.

Currently, many positions with the City of Portland are being performed remotely due to COVID-19. In the future, current positions classified as "full-time remote" could: 1) remain full-time remote, 2) become a remote/onsite mix, 3) revert to full-time at a city work location. The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Outlook (email), and Word.
- Ability to work independently, effectively, and collaboratively within a diverse workforce and with volunteers.
- Ability to work to assist with a variety of projects, and keep larger projects moving with intermittent attention.
- Occasional availability on some weekends and evenings is preferred, as volunteers often meet during non-business hours.
